€350,000 for community groups in Carlow-Kilkenny

Six communities in the region will receive €350,000 under the €16m Community Recognition Fund announced today with two more phases of funding from the €50m fund open for applications.



The Community Recognition Fund is a €50 million fund that aims to support the development of community infrastructure, in recognition of the many communities across the country who have welcomed arrivals from Ukraine and other countries. €1.85m was allocated to the region in 2023 for things like the Ossory Youth community bus and CRKC community radio. Successful 2024 Phase 1 applicants listed below can now undertake an extensive programme of works to develop and improve community infrastructure and facilities.

Communities that wish to apply for funding under the Community Recognition Fund, applications will be open for Phase 2 until September 30th and Phase 3 will be open until January 31st, 2025. Applications can be made through Carlow and Kilkenny County Councils.
