Cushendale Woollen Mills visited by Minister Noonan

Six generations of the Cushen family have operated out of Cushendale Woollen Mills in Graigenamanagh, producing a truly sustainable range of heritage textiles, deeply connected to the land, to our waters, and to nature.

I was most grateful to the Cushen family for the tour of the Mills yesterday. Their passion for their craft, the values they bring, their love of their work, and the community where they work is really inspiring.

Thankfully more and more people are valuing durability, quality, and the connection between consumer and maker.

The Cushen family's determination not to compromise their values or loyalty to their farmers and craft is the untold part of their story. It's about courage and a single-minded vision.

Thanks to Miriam for the tour. One word: inspirational!
