Grennan Mill 40th Anniversary Arts Exhibition launched by Minister Noonan

Forty years of creativity, inspiration and imagination in a creaky, beautiful old building on the banks of the river Nore. In fact the building itself is but one of the characters in the story of Grennan Mill Craft School.

It was a lot of fun to co-launch '40 mill years' with former student of Grennan Mill, Ann Mulrooney yesterday.

The yard was packed with tutors, former tutors and students, families and friends.

Arriving early, I dropped in on Lorna Donnellon's artist talk on her collaboration with the Conway Research Centre at UCD; a really fascinating science, collaborative research and art project.

Wishing the mill another successful forty years. It's vitally important to keep this space alive and vibrant as a place of learning. It's worth goes well beyond the walls, outbuildings and its river setting. It is the inspiration that has driven and continues to drive the Grennan mill story.
