Wicklow Mountains National Park site visit from Minister Noonan

Practical, replicable habitat restoration in Wicklow Mountains National Park. Thanks to our NPWS team, Munster Technological University's Nature Animation students, SUAS EIP farmers, and Mountaineering Ireland for an informative site visit today.

Scaling up actions to re-wet and re-vegetate degraded peatlands could impact positively on our climate, water and nature ambition. Results Based Payment Schemes are an effective way to support farmers towards good conversation measures.

Later I had a briefing from our great NPWS crew on recent wildlife crime cases and on last week's fire in Wicklow Mountains National Park. Bog asphodel is at it's best this time of year in the park; such a beautiful flower.
